The catalogues of the 7 big players, verified live. We win by a landslide on breadth and on features nobody else has — and because we committed to not lying, we also say what we leave out and why. That's the difference.

AIM PAPYR: 187 free tools in one place. The next most complete (Stirling) has 60+; the rest, between 24 and ~40. It's not marketing — it's counting the catalogues.

Honest applied AI: the agent proposes a plan and you approve it; chat across several PDFs at once with document and page citations; voice to .docx minutes; BibTeX/RIS bibliography; printable study quiz.
Active privacy: PDF X-ray, safety check, one-click anonymise, EXIF report, and sealing with public QR verification.
Contract analysis that downloads the deadlines into an .ics calendar with an alarm.
And the model: free, no ads, no sign-up, identifiers replaced before any AI, deleted when done, and all in the EU.

Read on their own websites on September 24, 2026. These are not design decisions: they are gaps we are closing or have not yet decided to close.

Languages: the site is in 7. iLovePDF is in 26, Smallpdf in about 24 and Stirling in more than 40.
No-code integrations (Zapier, Make, WordPress): iLovePDF has them; here there is an API and a connector for AI assistants.
Install it on your own servers, with corporate sign-in: open-source Stirling PDF allows it; here it is a service on EU servers.
Scan with your phone and receive it on your computer: iLovePDF and PDF24 do it; here you scan and carry on on the same device.
Native desktop or mobile app, or browser extension: iLovePDF, PDF24, Smallpdf and Stirling have one; here, the website installs and works offline with 60 tools.

What we leave out on purpose

Because we don't lie, here's what we don't do — and why it's a decision, not an oversight:

By design — the privacy is the point

No apps to install and no cloud storage: it works in any browser and we store nothing. Your files not staying anywhere is exactly the goal, not a gap. If you need native offline apps, the big players have them.
No account and no sync: nothing to sign up for, nothing left behind. You just start and work.

On the roadmap

Multi-signer e-sign with order and tracking (today: send to one signer by email, sealed with a QR).
Shapes, freehand and links in the editor, and publishing a form as a fillable link.
A self-service public API to plug PAPYR into your workflows.
